We’re hiring a Finance Accountant to join our small finance team. You’ll report to the Associate Finance Director and take real ownership of the day-to-day accounting work that keeps zeroheight running accurately – from month‑end close and SaaS billing to global tax compliance. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, proactive in improving processes, and keen to build their experience in a fast‑paced SaaS environment.

Your impact:

  • You’ll be responsible for running the core accounting operations day to day: delivering a reliable monthly close, ensuring billing runs smoothly, meeting tax obligations, and managing the finance inbox.
  • There is scope to improve existing processes, particularly as we explore automation and AI tools within finance, and we’re looking for someone who can contribute ideas and help implement them.

Why should you join us in particular:

  • You’ll have real ownership of day‑to‑day accounting – working closely with the Associate Finance Director, but with the trust and autonomy to run your areas independently.
  • Real scope to improve how things work – we’re actively investing in automation and AI tools in finance.
  • A SaaS company that’s growing, profitable, and genuinely trusted by some of the world’s best product teams.
  • Fully remote, flexible, and set up to let you do your best work.

Your day‑to‑day:

  • Own month‑end close: bank reconciliations, journal postings, prepayments and accruals, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain cost reporting and financial controls, overseeing accounts payable to ensure invoices are coded correctly, approvals are followed, and suppliers are paid on time.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring invoicing, collections, and cash allocation are accurate and on track.
  • Assisting with Annual audit for the UK entity.
  • Own the accounting inbox and act as a key point of contact for internal and external queries.
  • Own global sales tax compliance and handle international tax issues (withholding, compliance filings, customer tax queries).
  • Manage UK VAT returns and support UK PSA and P11D reporting.
  • Own Stripe configuration – product catalogue, subscription management, enterprise invoicing workflows, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Support group reporting to our US parent, including intercompany accounting and transfer pricing.

Essential Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a SaaS or technology business.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, with hands‑on Xero experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate data and build clear, reliable reports.
  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Working knowledge of UK VAT, global sales tax, and international tax concepts (SaaS context preferred).
  • Comfortable with ambiguity – proactive in finding answers and solving problems.
  • Able to travel to our London hub at least once per quarter.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Stripe and HubSpot, including billing, invoicing, and reconciliation.
  • Exposure to group structures and intercompany accounting.
  • Demonstrated interest in automation or AI tools to improve finance processes.

Process:

  • You apply.
  • Hello interview (30, video call).
  • Task & Skills assessment interview (1h 15, video call).
  • Founders interview (1h, video call).
  • We make a decision quickly and let you know.
