I'm partnering with a global, product-led B2B SaaS company operating at the intersection of data, infrastructure, and real-world impact. Their platform supports complex, high-stakes decision-making at scale, and as they continue to modernise and grow, design consistency, speed, and quality are becoming critical differentiators.
They’re now hiring a Senior Technical Product Designer-Design Systems to take full ownership of the design system underpinning their core platform and brand new SaaS product. This is an incredible opportunity to own a mission-critical design system at scale, shape not just the product, but how the product gets built, work on complex, meaningful problems with real-world impact and join a globally distributed, product-focused organisation investing heavily in design maturity.
You’ll be the single owner of the design system, responsible for defining its strategy, structure, and governance across a sophisticated, data-rich product environment. Operating outside of product squads, you’ll work horizontally across teams to ensure everything shipped is consistent, scalable, and production-ready.
Beyond the system itself, this role is about elevating how design happens, improving workflows, introducing smarter tooling (you must geek out over the latest AI tools), and accelerating the path from idea to implementation.
- Own & Evolve the Design System
- Define and scale the design system across tokens, components, patterns, and interaction models
- Set the long-term vision and roadmap to support a growing, complex platform
- Design for data-dense, workflow-heavy applications where clarity and usability are critical
- Improve Design Velocity & Ways of Working
- Optimise how design is delivered across the organisation
- Introduce modern approaches (including AI-enabled tooling) to reduce manual effort and increase speed
- Bridge Design & Engineering
- Partner closely with engineers to ensure seamless translation from design to code
- Reduce gaps between design intent and implementation
- Contribute to scalable, reusable approaches across design and frontend
- Guide Product Designers on best practices and system usage
- Raise the overall quality bar across the product ecosystem
- Design Systems Expertise
- Proven track record building and scaling design systems in complex product environments
- Strong UI and interaction design skills with a focus on scalability and clarity
- Experience in B2B SaaS, particularly with data-rich or workflow-heavy products
- Technical & Engineering Fluency
- Solid understanding of frontend development and component-based architecture
- Must have knowledge of front-end code (Typescript, React, HTML, CSS)
- Comfortable collaborating at a technical level with engineering teams
- High standards for quality, consistency, and system thinking
Passion for improving how design work gets done. Strong cross-functional experience with Product, Engineering, and Design.
