About the role
We're looking for a Director of Performance Marketing to own and scale our paid acquisition engine globally across the WorldRemit and Sendwave brands. This is a pivotal senior leadership role: you will set the strategy, manage significant channel budgets, lead a team of 5, and drive measurable growth in customer acquisition and revenue across all paid digital channels and markets.
What You'll Own
- Strategy & Channel Mix: Own the global paid acquisition strategy across Paid Search, Paid Social, App Store (ASA/Google UAC), Programmatic Display, and Affiliate. Own SEO & GEO strategy and delivery, working closely with the Martech team. Define channel mix and budget allocation strategy, balancing new customer acquisition with retargeting and reactivation. Build a testing and experimentation roadmap that continuously improves CAC and LTV:CAC across key corridors and segments. Lead seasonal and campaign planning in close partnership with Brand and Creative teams.
- Commercial Accountability: Own a multi-million pound media budget with full accountability for CPA, ROAS, CPL, and revenue contribution targets. Partner with Finance and Data Science to build and maintain attribution models that support marketing mix decisions and board reporting. Deliver regular performance reviews, translating complex channel data into clear business narrative. Identify and size growth opportunities by corridor, product line, and customer segment — and make the investment case.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and grow a team of 5 performance marketers, with scope to scale as the function grows. Build team capability in measurement, automation, creative testing, and data-led decision making. Manage key agency and technology partner relationships, including media agencies, DSPs, and measurement vendors. Drive a culture of rigour, speed, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Product and CRM to ensure a seamless handoff from paid click to onboarded sender. Partner with Data Science on incrementality testing, audience modelling, and propensity scoring for paid channels. Collaborate with Brand & Central PMM to ensure creative quality and message consistency across paid formats. Work with Legal and Compliance on channel specific regulatory requirements across markets.
- AI Literacy & Tools: As Zepz continues to build AI into how we work, we expect everyone to engage with it as a core part of their role. For this position we are looking for: A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can be applied in your area of work — from accelerating analysis and insight generation, to improving how we design and deliver processes and communications. Practical experience using AI tools in a professional context — whether to connect information, draft content, build frameworks, or create insights from data. We want people who actively use AI to increase productivity, not those who are waiting to be told to. Strong AI literacy — an understanding of what AI assistants can and cannot do, how to prompt effectively, and how to critically evaluate AI-generated output before using it. Awareness of the ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in the workplace, particularly in the context of sensitive data, customer experience, and compliance. Prior experience using Claude (Anthropic) is a nice-to-have but not essential — what matters most is that you are genuinely engaged with AI as a tool, comfortable experimenting, and eager to share what works with your wider team.
