About Zephyr Tech
Zephyr Tech is an MCS, NAPIT and RECC accredited solar PV, battery storage and EV charger installation company based in Eastbourne. We design and install premium renewable energy systems for commercial and domestic customers across the South East — and we’re scaling fast, with commercial installations at the heart of our growth plan.
We’re a premium installer. We don’t compete on price — we compete on engineering quality, honest advice and systems that perform exactly as quoted. Our customers include care homes, manufacturers, cold storage operators, hospitality businesses and farms, where the right solar and battery system can transform energy costs.
This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing company early and own the commercial sales function as it scales.
The Role
You’ll take commercial prospects from first conversation to signed contract. That means qualifying leads, arranging and running site surveys, working with our technical team to design solar PV and battery storage systems, building proposals that show real ROI and payback, and closing deals worth £50k–£500k+.
This is consultative B2B sales. You’re helping business owners and finance directors make a capital investment decision — you’ll need to be credible on energy costs, VAT treatment, payback periods and financing options, not just panels on roofs.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial pipeline: Work outbound target lists and inbound enquiries, reaching decision-makers (owners, MDs, FDs, operations directors) and booking site surveys.
- Survey and scope: Visit commercial sites to assess roof space, energy consumption and connection constraints, gathering what our design team needs.
- Build the business case: Produce clear proposals with ROI, payback and financing modelling so the customer can see exactly what the system returns.
- Run the full sales cycle: From first call through negotiation to close, then a clean handover to our project management and installation team.
- Farm your accounts: Multi-site operators are repeat customers. Stay close after installation — referrals and follow-on sites matter.
- Hit your targets: Manage your own pipeline in our CRM and consistently meet or beat your sales goals.
- Know your market: Stay on top of commercial energy prices, competitor activity, and solar and battery technology so you advise with authority.
What we’re looking for
- Proven B2B sales success: A strong track record selling to businesses — ideally solar, energy, M&E, or other capital equipment with a five- or six-figure ticket.
- Commercially fluent: Comfortable talking payback, ROI, VAT and capital allowances with owners and finance directors.
- Consultative approach: You listen first, understand the business’s energy problem, then advise.
- Technical confidence: Able to talk credibly about solar PV and battery storage, or the aptitude to get there fast.
- Self-motivated hunter: Disciplined outbound activity and pipeline management in a CRM — you don’t wait for leads to arrive.
- Experience selling to care homes, manufacturing, cold storage, hospitality or agriculture
- Knowledge of commercial solar design tools, DNO applications or PPA/financing structures
- An existing network of commercial decision-makers in the South East
