My client, who are a successful retail business, are changing the way their software engineering teams work, alongside redeveloping their main site. These changes have brought about the need for several new roles, including a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead small Scrum teams from a technical perspective, advising how to use the new technologies to create solutions requested by senior stakeholders in the business.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you are an experienced developer who works with minimal support and is a key technical influencer and mentor within the team. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused purely on technical excellence.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead Technical Design and Implementation: Take ownership of complex frontend features and architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and optimal performance across all applications.
  • Be a React/Next.js Expert: Leverage advanced React and Next.js features, including Server Components, client-side rendering, routing, and data fetching within the App Router paradigm to build robust, modern applications.
