Our client is a leading Retail business serving customers across Europe.

Early in 2026 they decided to refresh their ecommerce website, and a project has been ongoing to launch (end of August) the first live iteration and then continuously improve.

They are looking for a strong, adaptable Technical Project Manager to take this forward.

As they have described; a true "safe pair of hands" to lead their most substantial, complex initiatives.

You will lead on how delivery projects run, helping to shape how their entire department operate.

You'll navigate a mix of project scales, owning everything from early-stage discovery phases and up-funnel planning through to core technical execution.

Reporting directly to the Head of Delivery, you will lead initiatives that require expert coordination across Technology, Product, and broader business operations, whilst managing structured governance and Agile growth.

Key responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Delivery
  • Lead the delivery of complex, large-scale technical initiatives, comfortably balancing a mix of project scales to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Own and manage structured delivery plans (Waterfall / APM), maintaining tight control over scope, timelines, and quality while operating within Agile environments.
  • Work in close partnership with Technology teams, requiring a strong understanding of modern engineering environments and how iterative software practices impact project timelines.
  • Governance, Finance & Control
  • Take full ownership of project financial tracking, forecasting, and budget control.
  • Maintain strong governance, providing consistent and transparent reporting on progress to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Master the details: manage milestones, dependencies, and sequencing for a smooth delivery flow across internal teams and third-party vendors
  • Discovery & Risk Management
  • Proactively drive early-stage discovery phases and up-funnel planning, transforming ambiguous business challenges into structured, technically feasible project tracks.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies early, maintaining delivery momentum across complex, multi-team workstreams.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment across Technology, Product, and broader business teams
  • Collaboration & Delivery Leadership
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Engineers to ensure delivery is well-sequenced and aligned with product and business strategy.
  • Help redesign how delivery projects run, establishing and shaping new ways of working and department processes from the ground up.
  • Mentorship: Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to another Project Manager, helping to build a consistent, high-performing delivery culture across the team.
