Purpose of the role: We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments. As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful execution of IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining exceptional client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget estimation. Coordinate project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and proactively implement corrective actions. Communicate project status, updates, and risks to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and building strong relationships. Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, gather requirements, and translate them into project plans. Manage client expectations, providing regular updates on project progress, timelines, and milestones. Proactively identify opportunities to add value and provide strategic guidance to clients.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, engineers, and technicians, to achieve project goals. Allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and alignment with project requirements. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing, and professional development. Conduct regular team meetings, facilitating discussions, and resolving conflicts or issues as they arise.
  • Quality Assurance and Commercial & Risk Management: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations. Implement and enforce best practices, methodologies, and project management frameworks. Identify and assess project risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct thorough project reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned. Manage the commercial success of each programme of work against budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to MSP environments. Continuously enhance project management methodologies and processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for service expansion, process automation, and efficiency gains to drive business growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, preferably in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and security.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, JIRA).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and proactively.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in IT service management (ITSM) and familiarity with ITIL framework is a plus.
