We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the financial management, reporting and control of a significant business unit operating across multiple legal entities.

This is a broad and highly visible opportunity where you will be the key finance contact for operational leadership, providing clear financial insight, constructive challenge and support for decision-making. You will lead and develop 2–3 Accounts Assistants while working closely with a centralised shared services function responsible for transactional processing.

Success will mean delivering accurate, well-controlled reporting, strengthening financial governance and improving the processes and analysis that help the business understand revenue, margins, profitability and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close and management accounts process for multiple legal entities within an assigned business unit, ensuring accurate and reliable financial reporting.
  • Lead financial oversight of the business unit P&L, providing insight and constructive challenge to operational leaders and budget holders.
  • Drive stronger analysis and control across revenue, gross margin, profitability, work in progress and operational KPIs.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and month-end journals to maintain the integrity of the control environment.
  • Manage and develop a small team of Accounts Assistants, setting clear expectations and supporting their growth.
  • Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts, support external audits and oversee VAT returns and wider tax compliance activities.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives and finance projects that improve efficiency, accuracy and insight.
  • Support acquisition integrations and wider business change activities, helping to embed effective financial management and controls.

Requirements

  • Essential: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with strong technical accounting capability and commercial awareness.
  • Strong experience of month-end close, management accounts and maintaining accurate financial reporting.
  • Practical experience analysing revenue, margins, profitability and operational KPIs.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing statutory accounts and supporting external audits.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT compliance, balance sheet control and financial governance.
  • Experience managing and developing junior finance colleagues.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Clear and credible communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders, including the ability to explain financial information and influence decisions.

Desirable

  • Training within accountancy practice before moving into industry.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity group structure.
  • Experience in the technology, managed service provider, software or professional services sectors.
  • Experience supporting acquisition accounting and integration activities.

Benefits

  • Private health insurance.
  • Generous holiday allowance + a day off on your birthday.
  • Flexible working patterns.
  • Enhanced pension contributions.
