A leading UK Managed Service Provider is looking for a talented Senior Network Engineer to guide a skilled team within their Service Centre, a group hungry for direction, mentorship, and technical excellence.

This is a hands on leadership position (around 80% technical / 20% people leadership) perfect for a Senior or Principal Network Engineer ready to step up into a team lead role while remaining close to the technology OR an experienced technical lead whod value a more hands on role with less management overhead.

What Were Looking For

• Solid technical grounding, ideally CCNP certified (or working towards)
• Prior experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Escalation Engineer
• Confident communicator able to lead customer conversations and represent professionally
• A natural mentor who enjoys helping others grow, whilst also fixing tickets
• Commutable to the Surrey office once a week

The Tech Stack

• Cisco Catalyst & Nexus (Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols)
• Meraki (highly desirable)
• Fortinet (preferred) and Palo Alto (nice to have)
• Exposure to Azure networking or SD-WAN considered a strong plus
• Command-line configuration, escalation troubleshooting, and mentoring junior engineers

What Youll Be Doing

• Lead and mentor a small team of network engineers (ranging from CCNA to CCIE level)
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents (2nd3rd line)
• Provide guidance, structure, and motivation to a capable but growing team
• Support customer-facing engagements, ensuring strong communication and delivery standards
• Contribute to continuous service improvement within a multi-vendor environment
• Engage in hands-on network engineering, troubleshooting, configuration, and support across key clients
