We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teacher to join a specialist school on a full-time, long-term basis for the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working within a small, well-supported classroom environment and wants to make a genuine impact on pupils with additional needs.

You will be teaching a KS4 secondary class of approximately 7 pupils, allowing you to build strong relationships and provide highly individualised support.
About The Role
- Teaching a small KS4 class of approximately 7 pupils
- Pupils are non-verbal and have a range of sensory and additional learning needs
- Delivering lessons across all curriculum subjects, in line with the school's curriculum
- Adapting teaching and activities to suit different communication, sensory and learning needs
- Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using consistent and positive behaviour strategies
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other SEN professionals within the classroom
- Some pupils require personal care, so you will need to be comfortable working within an environment where this support is provided
- Creating an engaging, structured and supportive classroom environment
Who We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Previous SEN teaching experience within a specialist SEN school
- Alternatively, strong experience working within an SEN provision/resource base, particularly on a long-term basis
- Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, sensory needs and communication difficulties
- Confidence managing behaviours xgikmsk that can sometimes be challenging
- A patient, adaptable and consistent approach
- The ability to teach across different curriculum areas rather than specialising in one subject
