This role will be on the Network and Security Services team, focusing on the EMEA region. The team is responsible for global network infrastructure and perimeter security which includes firewalls and web proxies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively leverage monitoring tools to identify, diagnose, and resolve network security issues across a global, large-scale, multi-protocol, and multi-vendor infrastructure.
- Plan and implement network and security changes with careful consideration of risk, potential outages, and business impact.
- Perform operational tasks within business-critical data centers, ensuring their reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage support cases, RMAs, platform upgrades, and hardware/software refresh cycles.
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot a range of network and security products and tools to ensure seamless global infrastructure operations.
- Engage directly with business stakeholders across all levels to gather, analyze, and document requirements, and help prioritise initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for business partner needs, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and strategic goals.
- Build strong partnerships with delivery teams to ensure timely, scalable, and high-quality implementation of business solutions.
- Act as an escalation point for complex support issues requiring in-depth analysis and resolution.
- Provide consistent status updates and maintain issue tracking to ensure transparency and accountability.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must-haves
- Experience with Global Monitoring and Network Management Systems
- Experience with TCP/IP stack and application protocols, including DHCP, DNS, HTTP, SNMP, NTP, and FTP
- Experience with networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, OSPF
- Experience with global enterprise LAN and WAN technologies including SD-WAN
- Experience with network security concepts, including firewalls, web proxy, VPN, NAC, IPS/IDS
- Ability to write automation scripts and tools in languages like Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible
- Experience with enterprise wireless concepts, including Aruba
- Experience with public cloud concepts, including AWS and Azure
