Are you passionate about shaping the future of the electricity network and supporting the UK's transition to a Net Zero energy system? We are seeking a Network Design Data Product Owner to join the Network Design Digital & Data team. In this role, you will support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of data products that enable smarter planning, design, optimization, and management of the electricity transmission network across England and Wales.

Working closely with the Data Product Manager, business stakeholders, engineers, architects, analysts, and development teams, you will help deliver user-centric, high-quality data products that provide trusted, timely, and actionable insights to support operational excellence and strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Product environment.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience using Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Product Ownership: Support the Data Product Manager in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from discovery and definition through delivery and continuous improvement. Assist in developing and maintaining product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and user needs. Define, refine, and prioritize product backlogs to maximize business value and user impact. Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders across Network Design, Engineering, Data, and Business teams to understand requirements and challenges. Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather business needs and translate them into product requirements. Support stakeholder communications, product demonstrations, and adoption activities. Act as a bridge between business users and technical delivery teams.
  • Data & Analytics Enablement: Identify and define critical data requirements that support operational and planning decisions. Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and SMEs to validate data quality, business rules, source systems, and assumptions. Support the design and enhancement of data products that improve accessibility, reliability, and usability of data. Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Agile Delivery: Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Work closely with cross-functional delivery teams to ensure successful product releases. Coordinate testing activities, feedback collection, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor product performance and user adoption metrics to inform future enhancements.
  • Data Governance & Product Optimization: Maintain a strong understanding of data attributes, metadata, and enterprise data product catalogues. Support data governance, lineage, master data, and integration initiatives. Contribute to improving data quality, consistency, and compliance standards. Help establish best practices for managing and scaling data products.
