Job Title : Senior Electronic Design Engineer
Location : Frome (Hybrid Working – 3 Days On-Site Per Week)
Salary: Up to £65,000 (Depending on Experience)

Job Overview:
A requirement for an additional electronics engineer, focused on providing additional strength in hardware and associated firmware development.
Job Requirements:

  • Design and development of electronic embedded systems for subsea and shipboard applications.
  • Creation of new products from initial concept to final production, including both component and system-level development.
  • Enhancement and maintenance of existing products through design improvements, addressing component obsolescence, and implementing cost-reduction strategies.

Necessary Experience/Skills:

  • Extensive expertise in defining and developing electronic products to meet customer specifications.
  • Proficient in designing for compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Experienced with communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS485, SPI, I2C, I2S, among others.
  • Practical knowledge of Altium Designer.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative multidisciplinary settings.
  • Strong hands-on debugging abilities and familiarity with laboratory equipment.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as C, VHDL, and Python.
  • Familiar with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with version control systems.
  • Skilled in PCB layout using Altium, creating manufacturing documentation, and collaborating with PCB fabrication and assembly services.

Education:
– Degree in a relevant area such as Software or Electronic Engineering
