We’re seeking a Principal Electronics Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering team, taking technical ownership of hardware development across a range of advanced products and systems.
In this role, you’ll act as the senior electronics authority within the business, defining hardware architecture, setting design standards, and leading electronics development from concept through to production. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll help ensure seamless integration between hardware, embedded systems, software, and automation platforms. This opportunity would suit a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real engineering problems and driving robust, production-ready designs.
About the Role- Define electronics architecture and technical direction
- Lead analogue and digital hardware design from concept to production
- Own PCB quality, robustness, and manufacturability
- Drive hardware design reviews and technical sign-off
- Support EMC, compliance, and validation activities
- Collaborate with software and automation engineers to ensure integrated system performance
- Support prototype development, testing, debugging, and production transfer
- Maintain and improve electronics design standards and engineering best practice
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Strong experience in electronics product development
- Analogue and digital hardware design capability
- Experience delivering products into manufacture
- Understanding of embedded systems and hardware/firmware interaction
- Experience with microcontroller-based systems
- Practical understanding of EMC and regulatory requirements
- Confident technical decision-maker
- Embedded C or C++ exposure
- Familiarity with Altium or equivalent PCB design tools
