Our partner's electronics team is expanding, and they are looking for a contract PCB Design Engineer. In this role, you will help design the layouts for the physical hardware in their advanced green technology product range.
This is a 6 month assignment and is outside of IR35. We can offer a rate of £50pphr +VAT. You will need to go to site in High Wycombe once a month.
Skills required:
- Experience designing advanced circuit boards with many layers and connections (10+ layers), including high-speed connections and complex projects.
- Strong understanding of how to manage space and connections on complex boards.
- Understanding of how electrical signals behave in circuits and how power is delivered efficiently.
- Deep understanding of how circuit boards are made, including different materials, design standards, and construction methods.
- Skilled in using design software tools, especially Cadence OrCAD and Altium.
- Good communication skills to help guide other engineers and participate in design reviews.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience with ODB++, Gerber, Fabrication and Assembly drawings and BOMs.
Bonus Skills:
- Industry certifications like CID or CID+ / relevant degree.
- Experience using version control tools (like SVN).
- Knowledge of ways to automate parts of the design process, like placing components or optimizing the layout.
- Experience of working with green technology products.
- Experience of working with battery or low powered devices.
