The Role
We are looking for a Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer to join an engineering team developing low‑power electronic products for critical industrial applications. This is a hands‑on senior role focused on taking products through the full hardware lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to certification, approval and production. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electronic hardware products and taking them through approval and certification processes, ideally within ATEX, IECEx, safety‑critical or regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop low-power electronic hardware products from concept to production
- Own hardware development including schematic design, PCB design, prototyping, testing and manufacture
- Design analogue, digital and mixed-signal electronics
- Develop microcontroller-based embedded hardware solutions
- Support hardware bring‑up, debugging and validation
- Manage product certification activities, working directly with certification bodies and external test houses
- Support ATEX / IECEx, EMC and compliance processes
- Produce technical documentation, risk assessments and manufacturing documentation
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and production teams
Required Experience
- Strong experience in electronic hardware design and product development
- Proven track record taking products through approval and certification processes
- Experience working within ATEX, IECEx, safety‑critical or regulated environments
- Experience designing low-power electronic systems
- Strong PCB design experience (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad or similar)
- Analogue and digital electronics design experience
- Experience taking hardware from concept through to production
