Role: Contract Senior Electronics Engineer

Rate: £54pphr, outside IR35 onsite: 2-3 days per week onsite in Milton Keynes (offices are close to the station)

Duration: 6 months

Our partner develops advanced instrumentation and embedded systems for life sciences applications, combining electronics design, firmware development, and data acquisition across the full product lifecycle—from concept through to production.

You will be involved in the design and implementation of mixed-signal systems, spanning analogue front-end development, embedded hardware architecture, and low-level firmware.

Key Requirements:
  • Strong experience in analogue design
  • Embedded hardware design and system partitioning
  • Proficiency in embedded C and low-level driver development (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC/DAC)
  • Experience with hardware–firmware integration, debugging, and bring-up
  • Knowledge of low-power and battery-powered system design
  • Degree (or higher) in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related discipline
Desirable Skills:
  • Signal processing and data acquisition systems
  • Sensor integration and measurement systems (metrology / life science)
  • PCB design and layout (Altium Designer preferred)
  • RTOS-based embedded systems and firmware validation/testing
