Our client, a leading player in the Aerospace sector, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract (Inside IR35). This is an onsite role requiring SC clearance, working on critical aerospace projects that involve Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and SolidWorks-based mechanical design. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and analysis of aerospace components and assemblies, ensuring they meet industry standards, performance requirements, and manufacturability constraints. Key Responsibilities: Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks. Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural integrity, thermal performance, and mechanical stress evaluation. Generate technical documentation including BOMs, design specifications, and compliance reports. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including aerodynamics, stress engineers, and manufacturing teams. Support design reviews, prototype development, and testing to validate designs. Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), and weight reduction. Ensure designs adhere to aerospace regulations and standards (e.g., AS9100, DO-160).
