We’re partnering with an innovative technology company seeking a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the design and development of advanced power electronic systems, from concept through to production, in a collaborative, technically driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power electronic circuits, including DC-DC, AC-DC, and motor drive systems
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts for high-current and high-voltage designs, including multi-layer boards
  • Select components, calculate ratings, and manage bills of materials (BOMs) for power designs
  • Support prototype build, bring-up, testing, and debugging, including thermal and efficiency validation
  • Conduct design verification, EMC/EMI testing, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Participate in design reviews and produce clear technical documentation
  • Support transition from prototype to production, including manufacturability and reliability considerations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in power electronics design (switch-mode power supplies, converters, motor drives, inverters)
  • PCB design experience using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad, including high-current/high-voltage layouts
  • Solid understanding of power systems, thermal management, signal integrity, and EMC principles
  • Experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture and production
  • Exposure to embedded systems or microcontrollers is advantageous
  • Knowledge of relevant compliance standards (CE, UKCA, FCC)
