This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering consultancy that delivers specialist technical services, products, and research capabilities to clients across highly regulated and technology-driven sectors. The organisation supports major international programmes and works closely with global clients on complex, technically challenging projects, combining hands-on engineering, testing, and research within a collaborative and professional environment.
About the role:
- Contribute to commercial R&D programmes.
- Support projects from initial scoping through full delivery, including test facility preparation, commissioning, execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Hands-on, laboratory and cleanroom based, with exposure to advanced testing, research, and collaboration with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients.
- Mechanical assembly, drives and controllers, instrumentation and data acquisition, software preparation, and calibrate test data.
- Plan and manage your own work, take responsibility for assigned tasks, and contribute to timely, cost-effective project delivery.
- Occasional UK and international travel to customer sites.
About you:
- HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2+ years of hands-on laboratory and cleanroom working experience.
- Ability to plan, execute, and deliver R&D tasks within a commercial environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an enquiring, analytical mindset.
- Test execution, data analysis, and technical reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams and clients.
- Assembly and commissioning of test facilities.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 / ISO 9100 quality management systems.
- Willingness to undertake occasional UK and international travel.
