Job Title: CFD Engineer  Location: Bristol Salary – Up to £60,000 (Depending on Experience) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CFD Engineer to join one of our established clients in the Bristol Area. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting computational fluid dynamics (CFD) activities across multiple projects, including maintaining existing products and developing innovative new technologies. Fluid dynamics are essential to the performance of their product, making this a critical role within the organisation. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for developing CFD models, validating simulation results, and applying insights to enhance tool performance. The role promotes innovation through simulation and testing, contributing to the ongoing development of high-quality, competitive products. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain precise 3D CFD models for current and future products. • Validate CFD simulations with experimental and field data to ensure accuracy. • Analyse and optimise fluid behaviour within tools using simulation results. • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve product designs. • Assist in designing and executing test rigs and tests for model validation and design verification. • Prepare clear, technical reports and presentations to communicate CFD findings. • Support obsolescence management by reviewing and updating existing designs. • Engage with management, engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams. Essential Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. • At least 2 years of experience in fluid dynamics or CFD-related roles. • Strong understanding of fluid behaviors and turbomachinery principles. • Knowledge of hydraulics principles, including fluid equations and flow concepts. • Proficiency in CFD software (such as Ansys Fluent), 3D CAD tools (preferably Creo), and Microsoft Office. • Demonstrated ability to build, validate, and interpret computational models. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Proven ability to manage tasks and deliver high-quality work within project deadlines. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: • Familiarity with Python scripting (e.g., PyFluent) and/or Matlab. • Working knowledge of Creo CAD software. • Experience with open-source CFD tools like OpenFoam. • Background in additional modeling areas such as FEA, stress analysis, dynamics, or lumped parameter modeling.
