Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join our client's growing engineering team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of safety-critical electronic systems, contributing across the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and development through to production, ongoing support, and end-of-life management. A successful applicant will be taking ownership of designs and supporting the development of robust, high-quality electronic products that meet the highest safety, regulatory, and quality standards. We are searching for a candidate who has at least 5 years of experience, preferably within a regulated/safety critical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic hardware for safety-critical systems.
  • Capture and define hardware requirements, translating them into robust design solutions.
  • Create detailed electronic schematics and support PCB layout activities.
  • Design, analyse and validate switch-mode power supplies.
  • Analyse and verify designs using simulation and engineering analysis tools.
  • Test, validate and troubleshoot hardware, including environmental and EMC testing.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams and external partners to optimise designs for manufacture and cost.
  • Take technical ownership of projects, solving complex engineering challenges and driving successful delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance engineering processes, tools and best practices.
