We are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering organisation developing innovative products and solutions used across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects throughout the full product lifecycle, working within a collaborative engineering environment to deliver high-quality, commercially viable designs.
The Role
- Lead mechanical design activities from initial concept through to production release
- Take ownership of technical decisions and contribute to design reviews and engineering discussions
- Develop practical, cost-effective solutions with consideration for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and lifecycle requirements
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and associated documentation
- Conduct engineering analysis and validation activities to support design decisions
- Build, modify, and evaluate prototypes to verify concepts and product performance
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, procurement, and quality functions
- Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturing partners throughout the development process
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience designing components and assemblies for manufacture
- Hands‑on prototyping, testing, and product development experience
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and project ownership skills
- Experience with engineering analysis tools would be advantageous
- Familiarity with product data management systems is desirable
- Familiarity with FEA, CFD, or other simulation and analysis tools is desirable
