We are looking for an innovative Director to lead and align engineering and product functions in a rapidly growing technology company. With investment secured, growing commercial revenues, and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, the business is entering an exciting phase of scale and product expansion. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise in semiconductors/electronics with proven experience leading high-performing teams. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping technology strategy, driving product development, and scaling engineering capability as the company grows.
About the Role
- Provide strategic leadership across engineering and product teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept through to commercialisation and scaling
- Drive technical direction and innovation across semiconductor, photonics, and electronics development
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams across engineering and product
- Collaborate closely with operations, commercial, and leadership teams to deliver on company roadmap
- Oversee project delivery, resource planning, and budget management
- Ensure products meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements
- Act as a technical authority and decision-maker, supporting complex problem-solving and innovation
- Contribute to external engagement, including customers, partners, and investors where required
About You
- Strong technical background in semiconductors, photonics, or electronics engineering
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or director-level role, managing engineering and/or product teams
- Demonstrated success delivering complex hardware products from R&D through to commercialisation
- Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth technology environment
- Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing, and system-level design
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical involvement
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to align technology with business outcomes
