This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This position offers the chance to work on technically challenging products designed for demanding operating environments, while also supporting junior team members.
You will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanically robust products, ensuring solutions are practical, manufacturable and fit for purpose. You will play a key role in technical decision-making, project ownership and design improvement initiatives.
About the Role- Lead mechanical design and product development projects from concept through to manufacture
- Take ownership of engineering projects, making key technical decisions and contributing to design reviews
- Design with manufacturability, cost, thermal efficiency, and serviceability in mind
- Collaborate with internal departments and suppliers to ensure designs meet technical, commercial and delivery requirements
- Carry out structural and thermal assessments to validate product performance and compliance with environmental requirements
- Build, modify and test prototypes to support product validation and development
- Produce 3D CAD models, technical drawings and bills of materials
