Zenopa are partnered with a highly respected global animal health organisation in the search for a National Sales Manager to lead their Large Animal & Equine division across the UK & Ireland. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity combining strategic key account management with national sales team leadership. The business is seeking an individual with genuine cattle expertise, strong commercial credibility, and the ability to lead from the front within a close-knit, performance-driven culture.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of some of the most important veterinary group relationships in the UK market, while also coaching and developing a high-performing field team.

The Opportunity:

  • This position operates in a hybrid structure, split approximately:
    • 50% Strategic Key Account Management
    • 50% Sales Leadership & Coaching

You will be responsible for leading a team of Territory Managers and Field Veterinary Advisers across the UK & Ireland, while also directly managing major veterinary groups, wholesale accounts, and strategic livestock customers. The organisation is particularly focused on protecting and growing its position within the cattle sector and therefore requires someone with deep understanding of farm systems, preventative medicine, production cycles, and commercial livestock environments.

This role will suit either:

  • An experienced animal health sales leader with strong cattle expertise
  • A senior Key Account Manager ready for broader leadership responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership
    • Develop and execute national commercial strategy across Large Animal & Equine
    • Drive market penetration, growth, and customer retention
    • Set regional objectives, sales targets, and territory priorities
    • Analyse commercial performance and implement corrective action where required
    • Collaborate closely with marketing and technical teams
  • Key Account Management
    • Manage strategic veterinary group and wholesale relationships
    • Lead negotiations, tenders, and commercial agreements
    • Protect key accounts from competitor activity
    • Strengthen long-term customer partnerships and loyalty
    • Ensure consistent delivery of high service standards across the customer journey
  • Team Leadership & Coaching
    • Lead and develop 4 UK and 1 Ireland Territory Manager
    • Conduct regular field coaching and performance development
    • Recruit, onboard, and mentor high-performing commercial talent
    • Build a strong, accountable, customer-focused culture
    • Ensure consistent execution of commercial campaigns and messaging
  • Commercial & Financial Management
    • Deliver against sales, margin, and EBIT objectives
    • Monitor CRM activity, territory performance, and commercial effectiveness
    • Manage budgets and field expenditure
    • Produce regular commercial reporting and forecasting

Candidate Profile - Essential

  • Strong cattle / large animal expertise
  • Background within veterinary, livestock, or animal health sectors
  • Commercially driven with strong customer relationship skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK
  • Sales leadership or coaching experience
  • Key account management experience
  • Experience working with veterinary groups, distributors, or wholesalers
