The Opportunity

Our client, an established pharmaceutical company, is looking for an Associate Brand Manager to join their growing UK marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for either an early-career marketer looking to develop within the pharmaceutical industry or someone with 2-3 years of marketing experience who is ready to take on a broad and hands-on brand role. The successful candidate will support a portfolio of products across Gastroenterology and Hepatology, working closely with the Brand Manager and wider commercial team to deliver brand plans, marketing campaigns, digital projects and customer engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of annual brand and operational plans.
  • Support marketing activity across a portfolio of Gastroenterology and Hepatology products.
  • Develop and update digital marketing initiatives and web-based projects.
  • Create and coordinate promotional materials and sales aids to support the field sales team.
  • Support the planning and delivery of customer-facing events, including symposia, webinars and meetings.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure marketing projects are delivered effectively, on time and within budget.
  • Support engagement initiatives with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Medical, Regulatory and other internal teams.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant therapy areas and market developments.
  • Ensure promotional materials and marketing programmes comply with internal procedures and the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Support wider commercial and project-based initiatives as required.

Candidate Profile

Our client is open to candidates at different stages of their marketing career. The successful candidate could be a graduate with relevant marketing experience gained through a placement year or graduate scheme, or someone with approximately 2-3 years of marketing experience. Ideally, candidates will have:

  • Marketing experience within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, life sciences or medical devices, with pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • A degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences or a related discipline would be advantageous, although relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting marketing campaigns, commercial projects, meetings or product launches.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with or managing external agencies.
  • Exposure to HCP-facing events such as symposia, webinars or conferences.
  • An understanding of ABPI compliance or experience working within a regulated healthcare environment.
  • Digital marketing, website or CRM experience would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence would be desirable.

Why Apply?

This is a particularly strong opportunity for someone looking to gain broad commercial marketing exposure rather than working within a narrowly defined role. Our client has a small, close-knit UK team, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues and gain exposure across different functions, including Sales. The role offers hands-on involvement across brand marketing, digital projects, events, HCP engagement and sales support, alongside opportunities for UK and international travel.

Package

£35,000 - £45,000 basic salary, 10% annual bonus, potential car allowance, private health and dental cover following probation, pension contribution of 5%, with the opportunity to increase to 8%, hybrid working 2 days per week in Bourne End, opportunities for UK and international travel.
