Role Overview: Our client is seeking a highly strategic and clinically credible leader to drive sales and market share growth across the UK and Ireland. As the PVA Manager, you will be the bridge between clinical veterinary expertise and commercial success. Reporting directly to the General Manager of the West Europe Hub, you will translate the European PVA strategy into actionable local objectives, positioning our portfolios as the most recommended brand by veterinary professionals. This is a senior leadership role that requires both deep technical veterinary knowledge and the business acumen to navigate a competitive commercial landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Direction: Localise and tailor the European PVA strategy to ensure 100% relevance for the UK & IE market. Define SMART objectives and track KPIs to ensure commercial alignment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of 7 (2x Professional Consulting Veterinarians, 1x Nurse Specialist, 3x Customer Service specialists).
  • Stakeholder Management: Foster influence across the veterinary profession, including corporate headquarters, academic institutions, and professional associations.
  • Technical Excellence: Oversee the scientific accuracy of all marketing and technical materials, manage the national veterinary helpline, and lead the congress/seminar strategy.
  • Commercial Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing and Customer Development teams to champion PVA matters and pivot priorities based on business trends.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualification: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or an equivalent, recognised national veterinary qualification is non-negotiable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience working within a veterinary practice or a directly equivalent professional veterinary industry role.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience within the pet food sector or a fast-moving commercial business environment, including practical experience in business or practice management.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to set strategic direction, lead teams, and communicate with high-level impact.
  • Network: An established network within the veterinary community (e.g., local associations, specialist societies) is highly desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or a recognised board certification/diplomate status in Internal Medicine or Nutrition.
