A growing specialist healthcare company is seeking a commercially driven Clinical Account Executive to manage its South UK territory and support the growth of an innovative ophthalmology portfolio. This opportunity would suit an experienced pharmaceutical or medical device sales professional looking to develop their career within a specialist therapeutic area. Applications may also be considered from exceptional field sales professionals with highly transferable experience.
The role
- Take ownership of the territory, develop priority accounts and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals across NHS and private hospitals, optometry, community pharmacies, ICBs and primary care.
- Achieve agreed territory sales targets.
- Communicate the clinical and commercial value of the ophthalmology portfolio.
- Develop and deliver an effective territory business plan.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals and key decision-makers.
- Identify and develop opportunities within priority accounts.
- Maintain strong product, customer and competitor knowledge.
- Monitor NHS and local market developments.
- Manage your diary, customer database, call reporting and expenses.
- Work in accordance with the ABPI Code of Practice.
- Attend conferences, training and events, including occasional overnight stays.
About you
- Previous pharmaceutical, medical device or healthcare sales experience.
- A successful background in field sales, account management or business development.
- Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and navigating NHS accounts.
- Strong commercial, communication and influencing skills.
- The ability to understand and confidently communicate clinical information.
- A proactive, self-motivated and results-focused approach.
- Strong territory planning and account development skills.
- Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Ophthalmology experience, a degree and an ABPI qualification would be advantageous but are not essential.
