Consilium Recruit has been appointed exclusive recruitment partner to an advanced design consultancy who specialise in providing innovate solutions to the clean energy sector. Due to the award of new programs and expansion, they have a number of new vacancies to join their team and are currently recruiting for an Engineering Director. The successful candidate will lead the technical strategy, definition and delivery. You will support the General Manager and the Business Director in the day-to-day management and liaise directly with all areas of the business to help achieve the vision mission and goals of the business.
The Role
Lead, develop & grow the Engineering team.
Work across multiple areas of the business to develop and execute the strategy for the engineering division.
Keep abreast of the latest technology and actively investigate and support ideas to exploit technology and product across all target sectors.
Work closely with commercial teams to understand the market opportunities.
Lead & support process development for the engineering division.
Support the financial planning through the annual budgetary process for the engineering group.
Work with future customers and lead technical discussions at the early stages of the relationships.
Participate in technical reviews of product designs, requirements and specifications as required.
Lead, mentor and develop the technical team and support development of technical capabilities.
Support new business opportunities through technical leadership, preparation of technical and commercial documentation.
Support the definition of industry leading operational targets to set as goals for the group.
The Candidate
A degree or similar qualification in an engineering discipline.
Proven leadership skills, outgoing, confident and articulate.
Ability to think innovatively, freely and outside the box to come up with new & novel strategic offerings.
Be able to consider the operational, technical and commercial impact of all strategic offerings.
A sound understanding of engineering, physics and applied mathematics.
Relevant industry experience to support a leadership role.
Have an excellent understanding of engineering design practices.
Proven track record in the effective delivery of technical objectives to quality targets and milestones.
Familiarity with systems engineering processes from requirements capture through to validation.
Experience working on electrification projects and their sub-systems.
Willingness to take on roles, responsibilities and challenges required to achieve company goals.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
