THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly skilled Telematics Technical Specialist to join our Product team. This role focuses on the technical configuration and integration of telematics devices into our systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with telematics hardware and software tools, and a strong understanding of vehicle wiring and connectivity. This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract and can be performed remotely from home.

A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

  • Configure and deploy telematics devices across various vehicle makes and models.
  • Set up units within the telematics platform, ensuring accurate data flow and system integration.
  • Review and interpret wiring diagrams for different vehicle types to ensure correct installation.
  • Utilising telematics configuration tools to create or update configuration specific to vehicle make and models as well as troubleshooting technical issues relating to inconsistent or incorrect data received from vehicles or telematics devices.
  • Perform firmware updates and remote configuration using over-the-air technologies.
  • Collaborate with the product team to support technical requirements and resolve integration issues.
  • Conduct quality checks and diagnostics on installed devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Confirm commissioning and pass installation of telematics devices with technician during installation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience with telematics devices and associated tools.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot telematics hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with data protocols and connectivity (CAN bus, GPS, GSM).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical tasks.
  • Experience in fleet telematics or automotive electronics.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and telematics data platforms.
  • Basic networking and IoT device configuration skills.
