THE OPPORTUNITY

Zenobē is looking to hire an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to help deliver some of the largest battery energy storage (BESS) assets in the UK (300-500MW+ in size), and support our market entry into the German BESS market. The role will play an integral part of the growing Procurement Team and support in shaping its future way of working to deliver on Zenobē’s growth plans. The candidate should be comfortable supporting multiple live development projects on a multi-contracting basis, and flexible in supporting the wider business needs as required.

The primary focus of the role will be leading in sourcing and negotiating contracts for our BESS development projects across multiple categories (including balance of plant, civils & transformer packages), as well as development of procurement and contract strategies. It is expected that the candidate can be home based or from Zenobē’s head office in London. (if the former, some travel to the Zenobē’s head office in London will be required).

A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

  • Reporting functionally into the UK Head of Procurement.
  • Responsible for leading the developing procurement & contract strategies, sourcing & negotiating contracts across multiple categories on Zenobē’s live BESS development projects.
  • Support and help lead central procurement initiatives, including reviewing and developing new processes and procedures & improving on existing ones.
  • Lead development and negotiation of key strategic framework agreements across the business.
  • Support improvement initiatives on Zenobē’s existing contractual forms.
  • Support in building a culture of lessons learned being taken from the construction phase into upcoming development projects.
  • Support in developing SRM strategy across the business.
  • Develop and maintain good business relationships with new and existing contractors & internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support in contract management phase as required.

  • 5 -10 Years’ + experience in Procurement/Commercial/Contracts management with relevant qualifications (e.g BSc QS, RICS, CIPS) preferred.
  • The preferred candidate will hold relevant experience in the construction of battery energy storage system assets and/or other generation or infrastructure assets.
  • Project experience on a multi-contracting basis.
  • Experience with FIDIC and other forms of contract.
  • Preferably experienced in full end-to-end procurement and contract management, including formalising strategies, SRM, sourcing, negotiation, claims, variation and cost management.
  • A genuine passion for renewable energy.
  • Preferably experience of working on electrically focused packages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance, etc).
  • Experience in developing new and improving existing procurement processes & procedures across a business.
