Opportunity
We are looking to recruit an experienced energy market leader for a Head of Commercial Products role to lead the Route‐to‐Market function of the Network Infrastructure Team. The role will primarily cover the German market while providing UK support and will de‐risk forward‐looking revenues for our large‐scale battery energy storage portfolio through toll contracts that deliver guaranteed revenues. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the position is central to achieving the Network Infrastructure pipeline by securing contracts for the delivery of 1 GW/4 GWh storage projects by 2030 in Germany and 2 GW/8 GWh in the UK.
Day‐to‐Day Responsibilities
- Responsibility for maximising the contracted revenues for battery energy storage assets.
- Leading origination and development of commercial hedging products for transmission‐level large‐scale energy storage projects.
- Developing strategic partnerships to support business scaling.
- Managing senior‐level relationships with Route‐to‐Market providers.
- Supporting day‐to‐day business‐case development activities of projects until deal closure.
- Lobbying to enhance revenue streams for BESS.
- Contributing to strategy, including identifying contracting and hedging opportunities to expand Zenobee’s experience to other UK/Europe target markets.
- Liaising with international teams to support day‐to‐day commercial contract negotiations until closure.
- Identifying value‐accretive opportunities on existing assets and presenting proposals to the Investment Committee.
- Implementing best‐practice project development processes with functional teams across the business.
- Developing in‐house market insight (trends, strategies).
- Contributing to the NI strategy and understanding the impact of regulatory requirements and applications on each project’s revenues.
- Working with the Asset Management team to ensure contract compliance.
- Working closely with Corporate Finance to ensure project bankability.
- Ensuring portfolio risks and issues are managed, mitigated, and reported appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience
- Fluency in English (German speaking is an advantage).
- Deep understanding of the UK and German energy markets.
- High‐quality education (bachelor’s or master’s) in engineering, economics, finance or related fields.
- Solid work experience (10+ years) in the energy trading sector, preferably in energy storage or renewables.
- Experience managing trading and settlements processes.
- Understanding of revenue optimisation, PPAs and trading strategies.
- Strong commercial skills and comfort with legal contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present sophisticated contracts and sales pitches.
- Strong organisational skills, teamwork and attention to detail.
- Desire to work in a fast‐moving, high‐pressure entrepreneurial environment.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
