THE OPPORTUNITY
You will play a key role in the Spanish team supporting and leading on specified matters in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a growing organisation and legal team. The candidate can be based in either Madrid or London but must be able to spend time working between the two locations.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
- Play a key role in asset finance/commercial and contract related matters in Spain.
- Assist across a broad range of work from a legal stance working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including electric vehicle manufacturers and electric vehicle operators.
- Confidently manage general commercial legal related aspects of the business in Spain.
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts such as LOIs, master rental agreements, vehicle purchase agreements, maintenance agreements, EV charger supply and warranty agreements, operation & maintenance agreements and service agreements.
- Providing advice to internal and external stakeholders on key issues that may impact the business and operations – e.g. corporate governance, regulatory matters, data protection issues.
- General day to day advice on key risks and legal issues.
- Working confidently with Spanish external legal counsel.

Experience:
- 5 - 10 years PQE having trained and qualified at a good regional, national or international law firm.
- Spanish law or English law qualified and experience working in Spain.
- Spanish speaker (either as a first (written and spoken) language or fluent (written and spoken) second language).
- Experienced contract negotiator with commercial awareness.
- Asset finance experience would be advantageous but commercial experience is essential.
- Ideally someone who possesses in-house experience.
- Excellent legal drafting skills.
- Sound commercial judgment with an ability to prioritise effectively.
- Able to establish rapport and build strong trust-based relationships across teams in both the UK and Spain.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Spanish and English).
- Able to thrive in a very fast-paced environment with large amounts of responsibility and ownership.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to multi-task, meet deadlines and juggle competing demands.
- Attention to detail and able to produce work of consistently high quality.
- A strong team player able to work on their own initiative.
- Located in Spain (preferred but not essential) or London and able to work in Spain (Madrid) for at least one week a month.
- An understanding of the energy regulatory environment and experience in the energy sector would be a strong advantage (but is not essential).
