Zeno Group is a fiercely independent and global integrated communications agency, born from PR. We bring together the boldest and brightest talent to help clients across industries and sectors unleash the power of strategic communications. Guided by our "Fearless Pursuit of the Unexpected," we push the boundaries to achieve real business value and societal impact for clients.

We are looking to turbocharge our capabilities within Strategic Intelligence. As an integral part of our Intelligence Team, the role is split roughly 50/50 between existing clients and new business. With a background in both primary (proprietary research and analytics) and secondary data (gathered from desktop, ChatGPT, research or personal observations), you will work closely with all functions within the business and deliver counsel and oversee implementation to ensure we are pushing boundaries. Throughout this process, the ability to effectively prioritise and manage expectations from various stakeholders will be invaluable.

Linking up with our Global Intelligence team, you will be a key player in assessing products and services to better root them within Zeno London, while also having oversight of all current Data & Analytics work to ensure we are delivering a best in class service.

Ideally, you already work in an advertising, media, PR or similar agency environment and are familiar with how the creative comms industry works.

You will be the gatekeeper of various data tools – including Brandwatch, Cision, Meltwater, Morning Consult, Muck Rack, NewsWhip, Profound GEO, Signal AI, Spike and Talkwalker – helping us to ensure we maximise their abilities within the measurement and analytics required for existing clients as well as new business development.

You will also be expected to keep an eye on market developments in analytic tools and will be responsible for determining where we put our tech stack budget. As communication channels and objectives change, your role will include managing a research and analytics budget designed to help identify new and improved methods of measurement, research and monitoring. This will include managing supplier relationships and regular liaison with Zeno and DJE (parent company) colleagues to drive network efficiencies.

With several members of the teams already working in analytics you will be expected to line manage and assist in the career development of any junior colleagues that are assigned to you, as well as being responsible for educating and training others, where access permits, on their use.

You will succeed in this role if you are naturally curious, resourceful, tenacious, and ambitious, while being able to build strong, productive and meaningful relationships with your clients and colleagues.

You will be:

  • A team builder and player, able to work in, and proactively contributing to, multiple small teams
  • A good mentor and manager of any junior colleagues that are assigned to you
  • Able to see beyond the data to insights that can create a strategic narrative good enough to support responses to both client asks and new business opportunities
  • The research go-to resource, but also the educator of colleagues on both the scope of our analytics offering and, where possible, be able to create self-sufficient competence and skills with colleagues in the use of analytical tools
  • Commercially aware, always ensuring your billing target, and that of any team members under your management as well as managing the measurement tools budget
  • The lead in the development and implementation of efficient and effective reporting for clients on any projects or campaigns
  • Able to analyse previous campaigns reports and incorporate any learnings into subsequent campaigns
  • Comfortable presenting and interacting with clients and in pitches
  • Able to keep up to date on measurement developments in the comms industry, suggesting changes, updates and additions to our processes and software where required
  • Ideally knowledgeable to some extent in large language models (LLMs) and AI-powered search, with an interest in applying these technologies to enhance our generative engine optimisation product and broader analytics offering

The wider responsibilities in more detail:

  • IP and service development
    • Be a key leader on what D&A needs to thrive in how we set ourselves up (with platforms, tools and resources) to delivery on these with quality, every time
    • Help us to develop our next generation of measurement and analysis dashboards
  • Help build links with our US colleagues
    • Link up regularly with our North America D&A team to explore – with our support – what products and services we could bring to the London office to work in collaboration with the leadership Team on what we would need and how we would set up further developments in our D&A offer, for example Earned Performance Score
  • Business Development
    • Play an active role in bringing D&A into business development pitch work – both within insights and measurement
    • Help to explore and maximise opportunities within current clients
    • Be prepared to present findings where appropriate in pitch situations
  • Client work
    • Overseeing the daily real-time news and issues monitoring. Coordinating the junior team, reviewing work, responsibility for final compilation and distribution of key US morning alerts. Includes real-time reporting in times of company crisis which may coincide with bank holidays if relief staff not available
    • Be the lead in directing and managing input and the final compilation of report and recommendations. Continue to help us evolve this as a best-in-class model that pushes the boundaries in partnership with our clients, and take learnings to apply across our offer
    • In all cases be prepared to present findings and recommendations to clients
    • Help to explore and add research and measurement expertise to other accounts with the idea of driving the desire to expand our measurement and reporting scope
    • Continuously innovate and improve how we report and measure results for our clients to better understand key insights that answer critical business questions
  • Social & Digital
    • Work alongside our Social and Digital practice to help explore options to expand measurements and reporting in this area
  • Education and Culture
    • Contribute to a culture of increased data literacy and data-driven decision-making across the company
    • Assist in creating a DIY analytics culture on certain open tools where possible
