We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Monitoring Executive to join our dynamic Data & Insights team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about market trends, strategic reporting, and data analysis. The Junior Monitoring Executive will be responsible for tracking, analysing, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring & Content Collection: Track industry trends, competitor movements, and brand performance across various media and platforms (digital, social, print, etc.). Regularly collect content from a range of sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance as it pertains to a particular client. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly news coverage and social media mentions relevant to client work and briefs.
- Analysis & Reporting: Analyse the data collected to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities. Create detailed and insightful reports for external and internal stakeholders, summarising key findings and offering actionable recommendations. Present findings in a clear and accessible format (graphs, presentations, dashboards).
- Competitor Benchmarking: Monitor competitor activity and market positioning, analysing their strengths and weaknesses. Conduct benchmarking reports to help the company understand its competitive standing.
- KPI Tracking: Support in defining and monitoring KPIs to measure success across campaigns and initiatives. Help manage dashboards that track ongoing performance and project outcomes.
- Stakeholder (Clients) Communication: Collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure the monitoring and reporting aligns with business objectives. Assist in briefing clients on key insights and movements.
- Support Strategic Planning: Assist in providing data-backed insights that inform the development of strategic campaigns and initiatives.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Education: A degree in business, accountancy, marketing, communications, data analytics, or any related numbers field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in monitoring, data analysis, media tracking, or a similar role (internships included).
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy when collecting content for, reporting and presenting data.
- Time Management: Strong independence and organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines, must be comfortable working on a daily deliverable with a firm deadline.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesise full-length news articles into clear and concise snippets for an executive audience.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., ideally Muck Rack, Cision, Signal AI, Meltwater, Talkwalker, Spike, Brandwatch) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualisation tools.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and provide actionable insights.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
- Desirable Skills: Experience in media monitoring or social media analytics. Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Looker. Interest or background in public relations, communications, or marketing.
£27,000 - £29,000 a year.
