We are recruiting a Regional Sales Manager for the North West to accelerate growth within Zenith's Trailer Rental division. This role offers real freedom to build a territory, win new customers and secure long‑term contracts, with the backing of a market‑leading business and a highly competitive logistics proposition. It's ideal for someone with sales experience within the commercial vehicle or rental industry, who thrives on new business and wants to shape their own success.

Zenith's Trailer Rental business provides over 6,500 heavy goods semi‑trailers, offering the widest range of trailer types in the UK market. We work with some of the UK's most recognisable and complex fleets, including Amazon, DPD, Evri, DHL, Royal Mail Group and GXO. These organisations rely on Zenith not simply as a supplier, but as a long‑term strategic partner. From parcel delivery and retail distribution to 3PLs, utilities, construction, food and pharmaceutical logistics, we pride ourselves on delivering bespoke, high‑quality solutions that drive multi‑year customer retention and organic growth.

What's the role?

As Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the growth of trailer rental sales across the region, with a strong emphasis on new business acquisition. This is an 80% new business / 20% account management role, where success is driven by proactive activity, pipeline build and deal conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate, qualify and convert self‑sourced new business opportunities
  • Actively build and manage a robust regional sales pipeline
  • Win new customers across short‑term, long‑term and contract hire solutions
  • Grow and retain a small inherited account base while prioritising new logo wins
  • Reactivate lapsed customers and identify upsell opportunities
  • Increase long‑term contract hire penetration within the region
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver smooth implementation
  • Identify and progress cross‑sell opportunities across the wider Zenith Group
  • Provide market insight, competitor activity updates and performance reporting
  • Become a trusted expert in Zenith's trailer rental offering

What You'll Bring?

  • Proven success in B2B new business sales
  • Commercial vehicle industry experience, either: rental, leasing or contract hire, or fleet‑focused commercial sales (HGVs, trailers, LCVs)
  • Strong understanding of how fleet and logistics customers operate
  • Confidence selling face‑to‑face, over the phone and via Teams
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong written skills, able to produce clear and professional proposals
  • Ability to research, target and prospect using multiple sources
  • High levels of tenacity, resilience and self‑motivation
  • Strong time management skills across a large geographic territory
  • Comfortable working with CRM and bespoke sales systems
