Overview
Zenith are working with our client who are a leading manufacturer seeking a time-served, Multi‑Skilled Shift Engineer to support site operations. This permanent role focuses on maintaining plant performance, resolving breakdowns quickly, and delivering planned preventative maintenance across the facility. Working alongside, and reporting into the Engineering Manager, this is a key position within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to plant and equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with daily, weekly, and annual schedules.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture; ensure all tasks are completed safely.
- Protect product integrity and uphold strict quality standards at all times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to efficient production performance.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth shift operations.
- Work in a structured, organised manner to meet production and business targets.
- Drive efficiency by reducing waste, improving reliability, and identifying better ways of working.
Qualifications & Experience
- Time‑served apprenticeship and/or recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an automated production environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience in food manufacturing is desirable.
- Competent with data, analysis, and computer systems (Word/Excel).
- Desirable technical skills: PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, temperature control, welding.
