Overview

We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Sales Accounts and Business Development Manager to support the growth and development of our healthcare and social care services across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships, managing client and commissioner relationships, increasing service referrals, and identifying new business opportunities within the healthcare and care sector. The role will involve working closely with local authorities, NHS organisations, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), care professionals, and community stakeholders to promote high‑quality, person‑centred services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, alongside a strong understanding of the UK healthcare and social care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales and business development strategies to support organisational growth and service expansion within the healthcare and social care sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, referral pathways, partnerships, and framework agreements with local authorities, NHS bodies, care commissioners, and private clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, social workers, commissioners, and community organisations.
  • Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of client, commissioner, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Promote the organisation’s healthcare and care services, including domiciliary care, supported living, residential care, and specialist support services where applicable.
  • Prepare business proposals, service presentations, tender support documentation, quotations, and partnership agreements.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, funding opportunities, and service gaps within the healthcare and social care sector.
  • Support occupancy growth, referral generation, and service uptake through targeted business development activities.
  • Negotiate service agreements, pricing structures, and partnership arrangements in accordance with organisational policies and sector regulations.
  • Monitor business development performance and prepare regular reports, forecasts, and KPI updates for senior management.
  • Collaborate with operational, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure services meet stakeholder needs and maintain high‑quality standards.
  • Attend healthcare networking events, community engagement activities, commissioner meetings, and industry exhibitions to promote organisational services.
  • Ensure all activities comply with GDPR, safeguarding requirements, CQC standards, and relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, referrals, contracts, and stakeholder communications using CRM systems.

Entry Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management, Sales, or a related field; or at least 3 years’ relevant experience in sales, account management, business development, or healthcare partnerships.
  • Experience within the UK healthcare, social care, domiciliary care, supported living, or care home sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques, relationship management, and business growth strategies.
  • Knowledge of NHS structures, local authority commissioning, and healthcare referral processes is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve business development targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CRM systems, and reporting tools.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
