Our client is urgently seeking a Senior Commercial Gas Engineer to oversee the introduction and development of a new commercial gas team within their company. This pivotal role also includes becoming the Gas Manager for the domestic gas division. The successful candidate will transition from being "on the tools" to "off the tools," building and leading a team to enhance our service capabilities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Advise the company and staff on regulatory boundaries and liaise with regulators as needed.
- Assist the HR director in recruiting new commercial and domestic engineers.
- Design and implement a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training plan for all gas staff.
- Conduct site visits to complete audits on live works, ensuring compliance and quality control.
- Transition from hands-on engineering tasks to a managerial and strategic role, focusing on team leadership and departmental growth.
- Travelling across the North East of England.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer, with a strong background in the gas industry.
- Capable of managing both commercial and domestic gas operations.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience in team building.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with staff, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development plans.
