Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair plant and equipment, responding to both reactive breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance.
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new and existing machinery.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying improvements, safety enhancements, and long‑term engineering solutions.
- Diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly to relevant colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the lead technician, maintenance team, and wider departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Contribute to the development of other engineers through knowledge sharing and teamwork.
Qualifications
Essential:
- ONC/OND/HND/HNC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Electrical bias essential)
- Strong electrical fault‑finding skills – *Training can be provided on Siemens PLC’s where necessary, in the form of a course*
- Experience in heavy engineering electrical maintenance or similar environments.
- Confident working with AC/DC motors, single‑phase and three‑phase systems.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to spot issues early and take initiative.
