Zenith People have an opportunity for an experienced Equipment Engineer to join our client who have a dynamic project team in place to support the smooth operation of a cutting-edge manufacturing plant. You’ll be the go-to expert for plant equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance across departments. * Responsible for for all things equipment—your insights will guide decisions across departments. * Lead the charge in developing and integrating new machinery, ensuring every piece of kit is safe, compliant, and future-ready. * Collaborate across disciplines to support plant growth and continuous improvement. * Own performance metrics—set targets, track results, and drive improvements in equipment efficiency (OEE). * Shape refurbishment strategies and extend the life of critical assets. * Support procurement and project planning for new production technologies. * Represent engineering in all equipment-related matters * Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to support plant development * Ensure machinery meets safety and legal standards from design to implementation * Drive equipment performance (OEE), lifecycle management, and refurbishment strategies * Provide technical support to maintenance teams * Lead procurement and project planning for production equipment * Maintain a safe working environment at all times Skills & Experience: * Strong communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills * At least 5 year experience working in Manufacturing in a Maintenance or Process Role * Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and other tools * Logical, proactive mindset with fast learning ability * Proven project management and scheduling capabilities * Experience in manufacturing and equipment engineering * Knowledge of APQP, IAFT frameworks and current machinery legislation Qualifications/Requirements * A technical qualification in Electrical Engineering * Ideally from a Maintenance Background * A solid foundation in electrical or mechanical engineering, with bonus points for PLC knowledge (Siemens/Mitsubishi). * Experience in complex manufacturing environments or special-purpose assembly machines. * Familiarity with current UK Machinery Legislation and standards.
