Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in South Tyneside and are looking to recruit an experienced Safety Coordinator on a permanent basis.
Duties include supporting the site to effectively manage Health and Safety responsibilities both from a legal and internal Company perspective, ensuring that all employees work in safe conditions, legal and corporate obligations are fully met, and Safety Culture is developed and enhanced. This will involve being part of the European Safety Team and delivering upon the strategic plans developed and agreed. The ultimate purpose is to strive to reduce risk exposures in our operations by engaging with our operators and leaders.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive business target to reduce risk exposures and decision making, creating site level annual action plans for the local plant management to execute on a day to day basis.
- Analyse data and use information via systems to work on leading indicators and drive out the potential for any Life Changing Events to occur.
- Produce and share reports/data to Management on a regular basis.
- Implement a safety culture necessary to reduce accident / incident frequency on a continual basis.
- Define, implement and support safety strategy.
- Advise on equipment standards and best practices.
- Provide training in support of systems and legislation.
- Conduct accident / incident investigations and manage / monitor improvement schedules.
- Benchmark and leverage best practice.
- Provide support and advice on legislation and corporate requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified or IOSH; NEBOSH Certification or similar.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience of health & safety management within a manufacturing environment, ideally continuous process.
