We're looking for a Deputy General Manager to lead our Glasgow workshop.

This is your opportunity to take ownership of a major operation, lead experienced technical teams and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to some of the UK's best-known fleet operators.

Zenith provides a full range of services for fleet operators across HGVs, LGVs, LCVs and trailers, including fleet management, maintenance, funding, rental and flexible hire.

As Deputy General Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of our Glasgow workshop, driving productivity, profitability, customer service and technician performance while maintaining the high standards expected of an authorised IVECO dealership.

The Job

This is a hands-on operational leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the workshop.

You'll lead technicians and support teams, ensure exceptional customer service, drive productivity and profitability, and create a culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will be a key member of the site leadership team and act as deputy in their absence.

  • Leading the daily operation of the Glasgow workshop
  • Managing technician performance, utilisation and efficiency
  • Driving workshop productivity, labour recovery and profitability
  • Ensuring maintenance, repair and inspection work is completed safely and on time
  • Managing Vehicle Off Road (VOR) cases and minimising downtime
  • Creating a high-performing, engaged and accountable team culture
  • Coaching, developing and retaining workshop colleagues
  • Ensuring compliance with manufacturer, DVSA and company standards
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and manufacturer representatives
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the operation

  • Experience within a dealer, fleet or commercial vehicle environment
  • Previous experience leading a busy commercial workshop or operational teams
  • Strong understanding of workshop planning, utilisation and performance
  • Commercial awareness and budget responsibility
  • Experience managing KPIs and operational delivery

  • Strong understanding of health and safety compliance
