We're looking for a Management Accountant to join our Commercial Finance team on a 5-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll take ownership of reporting and controlling a defined cost centre within the Commercial P&L. You'll be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts, maintaining strong balance sheet control, and providing clear, actionable financial insight to support decision-making across the Commercial division. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid management accounting experience who is looking to further develop their commercial exposure within a business-facing finance role.
What's the Role
- Provide proactive monthly management accounts for our contract fleet services entity.
- Reconcile and review all balance sheet accounts regularly, resolving reconciling items and highlighting risks or opportunities.
- Take ownership of profit performance reporting for your area, ensuring results are accurate and understood.
- Uphold compliance with all accounting policies and practices while ensuring robust internal controls are in place.
- Act as a trusted advisor within the wider Commercial team, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive financial performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, embracing new technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What Can You Offer
- Ideally professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a finance role, ideally within a multi-entity or group structure.
- Strong knowledge of management accounts preparation and balance sheet control.
- Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, formulae) and ability to work with large data sets from multiple systems.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively under pressure.
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new processes and ideas.
