Our renowned oil & gas operating client are currently seeking an experienced Wells Environmental Advisor to work with them on a long-term Temporary Agency Worker contract role.

Position Overview

Working closely with the Decommissioning and Wells Environmental Advisor, act as environmental focal point for selected wells work scopes, supporting the identification, management, and continuous improvement of environmental risks, compliance obligations, and environmental performance.

Accountabilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and best practice.
  • Follow company procedures and best practice and hold others to account to do the same.
  • Work proactively with the onshore and offshore teams to provide timely and accurate environmental advice.
  • Support & promote the environmental element of the HSE management system within Wells related work.
  • Actively seek areas for environmental improvement and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Thoroughly investigate incidents so that lessons can be learnt and are effectively communicated within Wells work.
  • Develop close working relationships with the onshore and offshore teams.

Key Duties

  • Environment focal point for selected Wells work providing support and assurance.
  • Assure operations delivery of risk management and compliance with the Law and Company Procedures.
  • Engagement with Wells Teams to establish and implement management strategies for environmental issues.
  • Maintain awareness of existing and proposed changes to environmental legislation, Company Standards and industry best practices.
  • Deliver the annual environmental audit program.
  • Act as focal point for regulatory inspections for selected Wells related work and track all resultant actions to closure.
  • Assure the quality of incident investigations and their compliance with Company procedures.
  • Monitor Wells permit compliance and coordinate permit updates/renewals.
  • Monitor operations and performance data against targets and regulatory limits.
  • Support delivery of the environmental components of Wells HSE Improvement Plans.
  • Work closely with the Decommissioning and Wells Environmental Advisor to align and coordinate environmental requirements, expectations, and compliance requirements for Wells activities.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree or post graduate diploma in an environmental discipline or a core science would be preferred.
  • Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor for an offshore operator is favoured.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory regime.
  • Ability to travel offshore.
  • Candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK, as no sponsorship can be provided for this role.
