Support the growth of the Bank’s Emerging Markets (EM) business by providing banking business origination, quality risk assets creation, deposit mobilisation, superior relationship management, administrative, operational and analytical support to the head of Emerging Markets with the aim to provide excellent service delivery.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall growth of the Emerging Markets Desk.
  • Create quality risk assets that meet within the risk tolerance of ZBUK.
  • Mobilise deposits, without compromising the Bank’s AML standards.
  • Establish business relationships with external parties, with a view to identifying and generating business leads and opportunities.
  • Originate contingent liability transactions.
  • Ensure good communication with other internal departments within the Bank as well as Zenith Group subsidiaries.
  • Conduct first line financial statements analysis for credit decision before Credit structuring review.
  • Cross check spreadsheet prepared by CAS team before presentation to MCC.
  • Ensure the unit’s deal list is kept up to date.
  • Assist in preparation of transactional documents and communication with internal stakeholders and clients (e.g. Deal Review Forums, Term Sheets, etc).
  • Support the EM desk on payments, call backs.
  • Attend to customers' enquiries and engage with the respective internal teams such as Customer Services, Payments, CAS, credit risk or IT when required.
  • Respond to compliance enquiries related to customers' transactions.
  • Respond to enquiries from other departments such as payments, trade finance and compliance.
  • Assist in clients' first line due diligence, on-boarding, file notes, account reviews, daily transaction monitoring, preparation and submission of new accounts, and adverse media reviews.
  • Assist in preparation of facility documentation, archiving and compliance related forms including those for account opening/closing, Loan Drawdowns, new limits, etc.
  • Prepare credit minutes, GCC schedules and MCC paper review.
  • Support the credit analysts’ team with all required information gathering, preparation of documents and completion of internal credit applications, including collecting and obtaining credit data and financial statements, country, and client information.
  • Take minutes of the departmental meetings and clients' call reports when required.
  • Assist with regular reporting (pipeline, updates for ALCO, Exco reports, MPR).
  • Assist RMs with customers' transactions such as client’s exposure, outstanding loans and transactions request, deposits etc.
  • Be the custodian of EM’s digital filing system.
  • Any other miscellaneous tasks that may arise in the course of the job.
  • Comply with the FCA/PRA’s Individual Conduct Rules.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in either Banking, Financial Institution or Consulting.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent financial statements analysis skills.
  • Strong numerate skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal).
  • Be self-motivated/work with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment to living the Bank’s values.
  • Strong Microsoft Office user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A second language is desirable, but not compulsory.
  • A candidate who is a chartered Accountant or studying towards a relevant professional skill is desirable.
  • Strong KYC/KYB experience.
  • Some experience in writing credit applications, preparing reports, etc.
  • Very good knowledge of trade finance transactions and products.

This is a permanent position, paying up to £70,000 based on experience.
