We are hiring CAD Technicians at all levels from 1 year of experience to join our telecoms design team. You will produce 2D AutoCAD drawings for UK telecoms sites and deliver accurate work to tight client SLAs. Depending on your experience, we will offer you either the CAD Technician or Senior CAD Technician role.

Casado Design is a specialist telecoms design company that also works on town planning and renewable energy projects. Our team of 2D AutoCAD LT technicians turns survey information into planning and detailed design drawings for a wide range of clients.
Most of our projects are turned around within a single working day, so we handle a high volume of jobs across multiple clients at once. Quality matters to us: every drawing goes through a structured QA check, and we track performance so we can keep improving.
Key responsibilities
All CAD Technicians
- Produce accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings for UK telecoms sites, including planning drawings, general arrangements, elevations, site plans and detailed design drawings
- Interpret survey data, site photos, sketches and client briefs to show existing and proposed equipment
- Work to client and operator design specifications, drawing standards and CAD layer conventions
- Deliver a high volume of jobs to agreed SLA timescales, most within one working day
- Self check your own drawings against our CAD QA checklist before issue
- Liaise with surveyors, project managers and clients to resolve queries and revisions
- Update drawings for revisions and as built records
Senior CAD Technicians also
- Peer review and QA drawings produced by other technicians, giving clear feedback
- Mentor and support less experienced technicians, sharing telecoms knowledge and best practice
- Prioritise workload with the Design Manager and flag risks to deadlines early
- Help maintain and improve our drawing templates, title blocks and standards
- At least 1 year of experience as a CAD Technician in the UK telecoms sector (this is essential; applications without UK telecoms experience will not be considered)
- Working knowledge of UK telecoms site design, such as rooftop, streetwork and greenfield sites, antenna schematics, cabinets and equipment upgrades, including schedules
- Confident user of AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT for 2D drafting
- Experience working to UK mobile network operator or infrastructure provider design specifications
- Able to read and produce plans, elevations, sections and site layouts at correct scales
- Excellent attention to detail and a clear understanding of why QA processes matter
- Able to manage several jobs a day and consistently hit SLA deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to commute to and work full time from our Manchester or Bristol office
- 3 or more years of UK telecoms CAD experience (for the Senior role)
- Experience checking or reviewing other technicians' drawings
- Experience mentoring or leading a small drafting team
- Experience of town planning drawings or renewable energy projects
- Knowledge of telecoms planning applications and land registry drawings
- Understanding of steelwork, structural and civil elements on telecoms sites
- Awareness of RF and health and safety considerations on site upgrades
- A relevant qualification, such as a BTEC, HNC or HND in an engineering discipline
