Introduction
As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the seamless operation of all technology systems that support engineering, production, and business processes.
This includes managing and maintaining hardware, software, server, network, and collaboration platforms; troubleshooting technical issues; and implementing cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive data.
Your work will ensure that the company’s technological backbone remains robust, secure, and optimized for innovation in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
The role is based out of our Vancouver office and reports directly to our technology resources in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain end-user hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and maintain server infrastructure, including physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments
- Administer Windows and/or mac OS systems, including patching, upgrades, and full lifecycle management
- Administer and manage Microsoft Intune MDM, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and application deployment
- Oversee identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID
- Administer and support Microsoft Share Point, including site management, permissions, governance, and integration with Microsoft 365 services
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Enforce cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and lead root-cause analysis for incidents
- Support engineering, production, and business teams with timely and effective technical solutions
- Onboard, integrate, and manage IT infrastructure for acquired companies, including systems assessment, user migration, security alignment, and standardization of tools and processes
- Document system configurations, procedures, and architectural decisions
- Collaborate with remote teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years in IT Support, in a multi-office or complex environment.
- Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or mac OS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Customer-service orientation and patience when dealing with users of varying technical levels.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Comp TIA A+, Network+, or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e. g., Zendesk, Freshdesk, Jira Service Desk).
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools and remote desktop support solutions.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and ITIL.
