You will ensure reliable, secure delivery of the technology our people depend on every day - whether they are working from the office or remotely. The role also owns key areas of ISO compliance, manages the IS budget, and drives the internal technology roadmap.
What you will do:
- Lead and develop a team of IS engineers, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality service delivery across the business.
- Own the desktop support service, making sure staff can work effectively whether on-site or remote, and act as the escalation point for major incidents.
- Manage and administer core business systems including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Atlassian, SCCM, Intune, Azure and Remote Desktop.
- Look after the corporate network and infrastructure: office LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, meeting room technology, Fortinet firewalls and Zabbix monitoring.
- Oversee VoIP and cloud telephony services.
- Plan and manage capital and operational expenditure for internal systems, working closely with finance.
- Drive ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 audit readiness, support the annual finance audit, and handle SARs and HR-related investigations.
- Own business continuity planning and the internal security posture.
- Manage supplier relationships, licensing renewals, the IT asset register and hardware lifecycle.
- Lead IS projects from initiation to completion, contributing to the wider N&I technology strategy.
What you will bring:
- Proven experience managing a busy internal IT or service desk team - you will know how to motivate engineers, manage workload and develop people.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of corporate infrastructure: Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, SCCM/Intune, Azure, VPN and firewall technologies.
- Experience owning or contributing to ISO 27001 or ISO 9001 compliance - you will be comfortable with audits, controls and continuous improvement.
- A track record of managing IS budgets (Capex and Opex) and supplier relationships, with the commercial awareness to get value from contracts.
- Solid project management skills - you will be leading projects end-to-end and need to deliver them right the first time, on time.
- The ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to adapt quickly when priorities change.
